Bringing eSports to a Global Audience

Long before eSports filled arenas and attracted millions of online viewers, competitive gaming was already building passionate communities around the world. We were invited to live stream the UK Final of Sega’s Football Manager World Cup, transforming a tactical management game into a professional multi-camera broadcast that fans could watch live across Facebook, YouTube and X

The Challenge

Unlike traditional sport, there isn’t constant action to follow. Football Manager is all about tactics, decision-making and strategy, so the challenge was creating a broadcast that kept viewers entertained while making the competition easy to follow.

The production needed to capture the players, the game itself and the atmosphere in the room, while blending graphics, commentary and live gameplay into a single engaging webcast.

The Solution

Using a four-camera production, we combined live player reactions, in-game footage, graphics and pre-produced content into a broadcast designed specifically for online audiences.

Rather than simply pointing cameras at competitors, we focused on telling the story behind each match, helping viewers understand the decisions, tension and personalities that make competitive gaming so enjoyable to watch. The result felt much closer to a traditional sports broadcast than a simple gaming stream.

What the Client Said

“The team immediately understood what we wanted to achieve and produced a broadcast that felt professional from start to finish. The combination of live gameplay, commentary and multi-camera coverage created a fantastic viewing experience for everyone watching online.”

The Results

The Football Manager World Cup Final reached thousands of viewers across multiple streaming platforms, demonstrating how professional production can elevate competitive gaming into a genuine spectator event.

As eSports continues to grow, productions like this have become the benchmark for how gaming tournaments are presented, combining broadcast techniques with digital platforms to create engaging experiences for audiences around the world.

From the Crew

Gaming might look very different to traditional sport, but from a production point of view there are plenty of similarities. You’re still telling a story, building excitement and helping viewers understand what’s happening. It was great fun finding new ways to bring that energy to a Football Manager competition.

Our eSports Live Streaming Advice

The best eSports broadcasts don’t just show the game, they show the people behind it. Player reactions, expert commentary and behind-the-scenes moments are often just as engaging as the gameplay itself. If you’re planning a gaming tournament, think about the audience experience first and let the technology support the story.
