Giving Your Audience a New Perspective

Most videos show people where to look. 360° video hands that decision to the viewer, allowing them to explore every angle and experience a location in a completely different way. Whether it’s showcasing a venue, capturing an event or creating an immersive experience, 360° video invites your audience to interact with the content rather than simply watch it.

The Challenge

360° filming changes the way you think about production. With the 4K camera capturing every direction at once, there are no convenient places to hide lights, microphones or the crew. Every movement needs planning, every shot has to work from every angle and the technology should never distract from the experience itself.

The Solution

We approached the project differently from a traditional video shoot. Before filming, we carefully planned each location, camera position and movement to make sure viewers could explore naturally without interruption. Once everything was in place, our job was to quietly disappear into the background, capturing every detail while letting the location speak for itself.

The finished experience worked across phones, tablets, desktops and VR headsets, giving viewers the freedom to look around whenever something caught their attention.

The Results

Instead of watching a video from beginning to end, audiences could explore the environment at their own pace. It encouraged people to spend longer interacting with the content and created a far more memorable way to experience the client’s location than a conventional video ever could.

What the Client Said

“We wanted people to feel like they were standing in the middle of our launch experience, not just another video. WaveFX understood exactly what we were trying to achieve and created something that was interactive, engaging and genuinely different.”  Nigel Taylor M&S

Trusted 360 Video Production Company

360° shoots are always good fun because they’re completely different to traditional filming. There’s nowhere to hide, so every member of the crew has to think a few steps ahead. It takes a little more preparation, but when someone instinctively turns their phone or headset to explore the scene for the first time, you know you’ve created something genuinely immersive.

Our Advice

If you’re considering 360° video, think about the experience first and the technology second. Ask yourself what you want people to discover and why giving them control will improve the story you’re trying to tell. Used in the right way, 360° video can create a real sense of place and encourage audiences to spend far longer engaging with your content.
