A 360° Video Tour Never Closes
Potential customers can explore every room, discover hidden spaces and experience the atmosphere whenever it suits them, whether they’re planning an event from London, New York or Sydney.
Working with Meet Cambridge, we created an interactive experience that allows conference organisers and visitors to explore some of Cambridge’s most prestigious venues from anywhere in the world. Instead of relying on photographs and floorplans, they can walk through each location, interact with points of interest and gain the confidence to enquire before they ever step through the door.
Sometimes the best way to tell people about a place… is simply to let them look around.
The Challenge
Beautiful photography captures a single moment.
A 360° video tour captures the experience.
Meet Cambridge represents an incredible collection of historic colleges, conference venues and event spaces, each with its own personality. The challenge was to create an experience that encouraged visitors to explore naturally while making it easy to discover more about each venue without feeling overwhelmed.
The Solution
We combined immersive 360° filming with interactive technology to create a tour that visitors could enjoy on any device.
As viewers explored each venue, interactive hotspots revealed additional information, videos and useful details, allowing them to choose exactly what interested them most. The tours worked seamlessly on desktops, tablets, mobiles and VR headsets, making them accessible wherever people happened to be viewing.
The result was far more engaging than a traditional brochure or photo gallery. Visitors weren’t just looking at Cambridge, they were exploring it.
The Results
The finished 360 video tours gave Meet Cambridge a powerful way to showcase its venues to a global audience.
Potential visitors could explore locations at their own pace, revisit areas whenever they wished and gain a genuine feel for each venue long before arriving in person. For conference organisers, event planners and visitors, it removed uncertainty and helped them make decisions with confidence.
It also demonstrated how immersive digital experiences can continue promoting a destination long after filming has finished.
What the Client Said
“WaveFX helped us create an experience rather than simply a video. The interactive tours allow people to discover our venues in their own time and have become an important part of how we promote Cambridge.”
From the Crew
One of the things we enjoyed most about this project was watching people instinctively start exploring. Instead of sitting back and watching a film, they became part of it looking around, discovering hidden details and deciding where to go next. That’s exactly what a great 360° experience should do.
360 Video Tours Advice
If you’re asking people to visit, book or invest in a location, don’t just show them photographs. Let them experience the space. Interactive 360° video tours give visitors the confidence to explore at their own pace and often answer questions before they’re even asked.
