Graduate recruitment video production for Air Products
Choosing a graduate employer is a big decision. Air Products wanted potential applicants to hear directly from people already building their careers within the company.
WaveFX travelled to Brussels to film 12 graduates sharing their experiences, ambitions and advice for future applicants.
The client brief
Air Products operates across industries including food and drink, healthcare, energy, transport and semiconductor manufacturing. At the time of the project, the company employed more than 16,000 people across over 50 countries.
The original brief was to create one short promotional video for social media and a longer film for the company’s recruitment website.
Once filming began, it became clear that the interviews contained enough strong material to create a wider collection of videos for different stages of the recruitment campaign.
“WaveFX made the filming easy for everyone involved. They captured natural, thoughtful interviews with our graduates and turned two days of filming into a really useful collection of recruitment videos. We were delighted with the result.” Air Products Graduate Recruitment Team
Audience size and locations
The campaign was created for students and graduates considering careers with Air Products in the UK, Europe and the company’s wider international markets.
The videos could reach thousands of potential applicants through the corporate website, social media, exhibitions, careers presentations and university recruitment events.
Platforms used
The final videos were prepared for:
- The Air Products corporate website
- LinkedIn and other social platforms
- Graduate recruitment exhibitions
- University presentations
- Internal careers communications
Each version was edited to suit its platform while keeping the message and visual style consistent.
Production setup
A compact two-person WaveFX crew spent two days filming at several locations around Brussels.
The production included:
- Interviews with 12 existing graduates
- Workplace and location footage
- Portable lighting and sound equipment
- A longer recruitment film
- Six shorter standalone videos
- Social-media versions and presentation files
Keeping the crew small helped the interviews feel relaxed and allowed us to move efficiently between locations.
Graduate recruitment video production challenges and how we addressed them
Most of the graduates had little or no experience speaking on camera. We kept the interviews conversational, using straightforward questions that encouraged personal rather than scripted answers.
Filming 12 people at several locations within two days required careful scheduling. The crew used a portable setup that could be moved and prepared quickly without disrupting the working day.
The footage also needed to support several different videos. We planned the interview questions around themes such as career development, company culture, international opportunities and advice for applicants.
Measurable outcome
The project delivered:
- Two filming days in Brussels
- Interviews with 12 graduates
- A two-person production crew
- One main recruitment film
- Six shorter campaign videos
- Content for websites, social media, exhibitions and presentations
By creating several edits from one production, Air Products gained a flexible library of content that could support its graduate recruitment programme throughout the year.
