Event Filming and Live Streaming at Wembley Arena

Large events move quickly. While the audience watches the stage, the filming crew needs to anticipate what will happen next and capture it without getting in the way.

WaveFX provided multi-camera event filming and live streaming for a major production at Wembley Arena in London, working as a white-label technical partner for the lead production agency.

The client brief

The agency needed an experienced filming crew that could join the wider production team, work under its brand and manage both the live programme and recorded content.

Coverage had to include everything happening on stage, close-up shots of speakers and performers, wide views of the arena and reactions from an audience of approximately 10,000 people.

The programme was also streamed to viewers across the UK through a branded event page and social-media channels. Recorded content would be edited for websites, promotional films and future event marketing.

“Good event filming isn’t only about operating a camera. It’s about anticipating what is coming next so you are ready for the important moments.” Peter Harmer, Videographer, WaveFX

The production setup

Four professional cameras were positioned around Wembley Arena to provide a mixture of wide, close and moving shots.

The camera feeds were sent to a central production desk, where our director selected and mixed the live programme. Event graphics, presentation content and pre-recorded videos were added at the appropriate points in the running order.

Audio feeds were taken from the venue’s sound desk and recorded separately, giving the editing team clean speech, music and audience sound.

The finished programme was encoded for the online stream while a full-resolution master and isolated camera feeds were recorded for post-event editing.

Because the work was delivered as a white-label service, our crew coordinated directly with the agency, venue and other technical suppliers while remaining behind the client’s brand.

Production challenges and how we addressed them

Wembley Arena is a large venue, so camera positions needed to provide strong coverage without blocking audience sightlines or affecting the live experience.

Positions and lens choices were planned in advance, with clear communication between the camera operators and director throughout the event.

The running order also included presentations, films and unscripted audience moments. Our team followed the stage cues closely while remaining ready to respond when the programme changed.

For the live stream, internet connectivity and each outgoing feed were tested before doors opened. Backup recording and encoding systems remained available throughout the event.

Event filming company in London and beyond

The production delivered live multi-camera coverage to an arena audience of approximately 10,000 people, alongside a webcast for remote viewers across the UK.

The client received a complete recording, a 90-second highlights film and eight shorter edits for social media.

All footage was delivered under the production agency’s branding, giving it an experienced event filming and streaming team without needing to build additional in-house capacity.
