Music Festival Live Streaming for EuroNoize

EuroNoize brought 11 alternative bands from across Europe together for a four-hour live music competition at SCALA in London.

WaveFX provided the complete music festival live streaming setup, capturing every performance for the audience inside the venue and thousands of viewers watching online.

The client brief

Created by promoters Galia and Pil Kollectiv, EuroNoize celebrates alternative and underground music from across Europe. The event follows a live competition format, with each band representing its country before the audience chooses a winner.

The organisers needed one production team to film the performances, create content for the venue screens and stream the complete show online. Everything had to work around rapid band changeovers and a fixed live schedule.

Audience size and locations

The audience at SCALA was joined by thousands of online viewers from across Europe.

With bands representing 11 countries, the webcast allowed fans, friends and music communities to support their performers without traveling to London.

Platforms used

The complete festival was streamed through the EuroNoize website and distributed simultaneously through Facebook and YouTube

Multicasting allowed the production team to send the programme to more than one online destination without requiring separate equipment for every platform. The recording remained available to watch after the festival.

Music festival live streaming production setup

A six-person WaveFX crew managed the filming, live mixing and online broadcast.

The setup included:

Five cameras covering the stage and venue
Three vision-mixing systems
Live graphics and competition content
Video feeds for the venue screens
A four-hour online broadcast
A bonded mobile internet connection
Recording for on-demand viewing

The cameras provided wide views of the stage alongside closer shots of the performers, musicians and audience.

Production challenges and how we addressed them

SCALA’s available internet connection wasn’t suitable for such an important live broadcast. We installed a Teradek Live Pro backpack on the venue roof, bonding five mobile SIM connections to achieve a stable upload speed of more than 40Mbps.

With 11 bands performing, the production had to move quickly between different stage setups. Our camera operators and vision-mixing team followed the running order closely, preparing each shot while equipment was changed on stage.

We were also producing content for two audiences at once. Separate outputs ensured that people inside SCALA and viewers watching online both received the right mix of cameras, sound and graphics.

Four hours of continuous live coverage

Five live camera feeds
More than 40Mbps of bonded upload capacity
Distribution through the event website and Facebook
Thousands of online viewers across Europe

The complete programme was recorded and made available after the event, helping EuroNoize continue reaching new audiences once the live performances had finished.
