3D Animation for Inca’s FESPA Exhibition Stand
Large industrial equipment isn’t always easy to transport, demonstrate or explore on a busy exhibition stand. For Inca Digital Printers, 3D animation provided a clear and engaging way to introduce its new Onset M printer to an international audience.
The client brief
Inca Digital Printers is a leading designer and manufacturer of industrial inkjet printers. The team asked WaveFX to produce a photorealistic product animation and a series of shorter explainer videos for the launch of the “Onset M”
The content would be shown at FESPA, one of the international print industry’s major exhibitions, and shared through YouTube and LinkedIn after the event. It needed to explain the technology accurately while remaining accessible to visitors encountering the product for the first time.
“It’s beautiful. The final result is amazing!” Ciara McGahey, Marketing Executive, Inca Digital Printers
Audience and locations
The animation was created for print professionals, distributors and potential customers attending FESPA from across Europe and the wider international market.
Its use extended beyond the exhibition stand, reaching online audiences through Inca’s video platforms and supporting the company’s printed product literature.
Creating the 3D animation
We worked from Inca’s technical information and product files to build an accurate digital version of the Onset M. Our animators added realistic materials, lighting and movement before creating camera sequences that revealed the equipment from angles that would be difficult to film.
The finished content included:
- A photorealistic product showcase for exhibition screens
- Three shorter 3D explainer videos
- Cutaway and close-up views of key components
- Versions prepared for YouTube and LinkedIn
- High-resolution product images for printed brochures
Production challenges and how we addressed them
The Onset M is a technically detailed piece of equipment, so accuracy was essential. We used staged reviews with Inca’s team to check the model, materials and mechanical movements before completing the final renders.
The project also had a fixed exhibition deadline. We planned the modelling, animation and approval stages around the FESPA schedule, leaving enough time for final changes and delivery testing.
Because the animation would appear on large exhibition screens, every detail needed to remain sharp. The lighting and materials were developed to provide a realistic finish at high resolution without distracting from the product itself.
Measurable outcome
The project delivered one main product animation, three supporting explainer videos and a collection of high-resolution still images.
All of these were created from the same 3D assets, helping Inca gain more value from the initial production. The content supported the FESPA exhibition stand, online video channels and printed brochures while maintaining a consistent visual style across every format.
